Richards placed an emphasis on mining towns, camps, and diggings as well as scenic views in California. In addition to all the States and travel accommodations of baggage, hotels, tickets, and more, Richards also makes note of George Washington, American Revolution, hunting and fishing areas, slave populations, battlefields, conflict between free and slave states, and much more.
