1892 Bronze Medal commemorating the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus's discovery of America by the German creator Wilhelm Mayer

On the front: The Head of Columbia wearing a cap. The word LIBERTY over the forehead and adorned with wheat-ears and flowers. Surrounded by a border of stars. On the bottom, the year 1892.

On the back: Christopher Columbus and his followers stepping ashore, with frightened locals under a palm tree, and the year 1492 in the bottom.

On the border: "DEDICATED TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE IN HONOR OF THE 400TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE DISCOVERY OF AMERICA . UNITED WE STAND DIVIDED WE FALL."
