A limited edition print featuring the Silver Plate B-29 Superfortress, the "Enola Gay," of the 509th Composite Group and signed by 9 members of the group including pilot Col. Paul W. Tibbets (February 23, 1915 – November 1, 2007), navigator Capt. Theodore J. "Dutch" Van Kirk (February 27, 1921 – July 28, 2014).

I got this from the man who was the Heritage League President for the Second Air Division and who had this print signed. He included this note:

"8.25" x 14" limited edition print that I had created for a 509th Composite group reunion to be given one to each attendee so that they could obtain autographs of the Veterans in attendance.

"The print depicts the nose art of all the 509th planes with the exception of V-94 which did not have nose art. With the exception of the "Enola Gay" all nose art was painted on the planes after the war was over.

"The Veterans who autographed on the nose art of the plane they were assigned to. Jacket patches for the 393rd bomb squadron and 320th troop carrier squadron are depicted. These were the only jacket leather patches made, the 509th did not have an official patch.

"The autographs on the print are actual, real, not a scan, copy, reproduction or forgeries of any type and were acquired by me in person.

"For additional provenance, I have enclosed a reunion program and pages from our book, The 509th Remembered showing the history, crew, and missions of each plane."

Those items, pictured, will be included.

The photos of the Enola Gay are ones I took when I visited the Air & Space Museum's huge annex near Dulles, the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, in July 2021. It's well worth a visit if you haven't been.
