Spectacular souvenir fan from the Centennial Exposition in 1876 showing the Main Exhibition Building.
When I first saw this I assumed that the width of the building had been exaggerated and went looking for photos to see the real size. Lo and behold, it actually was that big.
It was the largest building in the world by area at the time covering 21.5 acres and measuring 464 feet in width and 1880 feet in length. It was demolished in 1881.
In a beautiful custom made case. It's a stunning piece.
