Our latest original design commemorates the The New York Campaign 250 years ago.

  • Battle of Brooklyn — August 27, 1776
  • Battle of Long Island — August 27, 1776
  • Battle of Harlem Heights — September 16, 1776
  • Battle of White Plains — October 28, 1776

On the front, 1776 with the name of the battle, and on the back, their corresponding dates.

Brooklyn and Long Island refer to the same battle, and we’re offering both designs because both names are used. The Battle of Brooklyn/Battle of Long Island was a major British victory, but Washington’s nighttime retreat across the East River saved the Continental Army from destruction.

Harlem Heights followed in September, after Washington’s army withdrew to Manhattan. White Plains followed in October as the campaign moved north.

Together, these four designs mark the difficult New York campaign of 1776

The cap: Unstructured crown with top button and six sewn eyelets. Curved bill with six rows of stitching. Self-fabric closure with D-ring slider and tuck-in strap.

Embroidered in New England.
