Updated November 27: Earlier today, as I was distributing advent calendars to friends and relatives who had received last year's, I realized that an explanation on this year's would be helpful since it is quite different than last year's.

While last year's "Crossing" calendar was focused on a single historic event of great importance, with every image created for that calendar, this year's tells the story of the lead up to the Declaration as well as the passage and then the publication and distribution of it throughout the colonies. Several of the images are historic images that, on the calendar, are small, so you'll definitely want to use the QR code on the back of the calendar. That will take you to the page each evening that tells more about what was pictured that day. Some of the entries are short, some are quite long. Most include a link to a full-sized image as well as links to learn more.

We developed this over many months and greatly appreciate your interest and support. I hope it's a fun way to discover more about our nation's history as we enter the 250th anniversary of declaring independence.

Make the countdown to Christmas historic with our advent calendar showing what at the time was the Pennsylvania State House where the Declaration was signed along with the signatures of all of the men who signed the Declaration.

Each day reveals a new element—an object or event—related to the drafting and passage of the Declaration. A QR code on the back links to more information on what was behind each day's window. (We will add each day around midnight of that day so that we don't ruin the surprise.)

It's the perfect gift as we enter our nation's 250th year.

Printed on thick glossy paper. Includes a cardboard stand that you can add that attaches to the back so that it can stand up on a table for display. (Assemble the stand first before attaching it to the back of the calendar.)

Each calendar comes with an envelope featuring Trumbull's famous Declaration of Independence painting and an image of the print with the Pennsylvania State House and a map of Philadelphia around the time of the signing.

Also available, "Washington Crossing the Delaware" Advent Calendar with special mailing envelope, which got such great reviews, including this one:

Great historical Christmas calendar for the history buff. Fun and interesting way to learn more about America's beginnings and celebrate the holiday. Highly recommend. — Ellen S.
