Created by Georges Schreiber for the Fifth War Loan campaign, this original 1944 poster depicts two submariners at sea, one operating a signal light and the other looking through binoculars. The beam carries the words “Fire Away!” above the appeal to “Buy Extra Bonds.”

USS Dorado (SS-248) disappeared in October 1943 while traveling from New London, Connecticut, to the Panama Canal Zone. She was lost with all 77 aboard.
The lower margin carries the imprint “U.S. Government Printing Office: 1944-O-581636,” visible in the supplied close-up and documented in the University of North Texas catalog.
The poster is in a very good, vintage condition with a couple of pinholes on the corner and has been professionally framed.
