A spectacular parchment document dated 1750 with ornate borders and a portrait of George II. The seal, which is still attached, isn't in great shape, but it is there. It's the document that's the star, with the illustration and calligraphy. In very good condition.
This document grants the right for John Bateman to hold for fairs a year in Limerick, Ireland.
It measures approximately 23" x 29.5".
Because it's been folded (and parchment is strong), to get it to lay somewhat flat, I used some rectangular lucite blocks to hold parts of it down.
I've seen these framed in a way that doesn't press them flat but exhibits them more as a historical artifact.
