A Wedgwood Queenware bowl in the Philadelphia pattern with a removable wood stand, made for John Wanamaker's department store.

This extensive dinnerware pattern was produced exclusively for the Philadelphia institution.

Decorated with an extensive series of historical landmarks.

On the inside of the bowl:

  • Christ Church
  • The State House (Independence Hall)

On the outside of the bowl:

  • East Prospect of Philadelphia from the Jersey Shore About 1753
  • Carpenters' Hall

In the center of the bowl, a large, handsome American eagle with banner.

On the bottom:
