A beautiful Seth Thomas mantle clock w reverse painting on glass of an American Eagle atop an American flag. Based on our research, it's from 1865 or later (after they firm had moved to Thomaston, Connecticut.

Spring-powered and designed to run for 30 hours when fully wound.  The clock runs, but I have not tested it for 30 hours or checked to see how accurately it keeps time.  The instructions for the clock are on a piece of paper affixed inside the pendulum compartment. One speed adjustment is done by moving the pendulum weight up or down.

Note that there is a small pin missing from the knob that holds the door closed. A replacement could be fashioned easily from a straight pin.

I purchased this last summer because I thought that it very attractive and I especially liked the reverse painted eagle, flag, and banner. The case is in very good condition and the label inside the pendulum compartment is in excellent condition.
