. . .
Made by hand in New England using traditional methods and materials.

Featuring quotes from three important figures of the Revolutionary War:

  • “If we mean to have Heroes, Statesmen and Philosophers, we should have learned women." — Abigail Adams — Black mug

  • “Nil desperandum, -- Never Despair. That is a motto for you and me. All are not dead; and where there is a spark of patriotic fire, we will rekindle it.” — Samuel Adams — Dark yellow mug

  • “If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace" — Thomas Paine — Dark yellow mug

We have only one of each and no idea whether we'll be able to get more, or if we will, when we will.

Note: Because each is handmade, there will be slight differences and imperfections. And note that the bottom is not glazed, so it may be a little rough. If it is, you can smooth it with fine grit sandpaper or an emery board with a fine grain, attach a small piece of felt, get one of our new coasters, or simply be careful not to slide it across a finished surface.

Redware was the most commonly used pottery prior to the 19th century. The name comes from its high iron content and coloration.

The mugs are lead free and food-safe and can be put in the microwave.

Size: 5.5" high x 3.75" diameter. When filled to about 1/2" below the rim, it holds about 2.5 cups.

Care: Handwashing recommended.
