Theodore Roosevelt bronze plaque by sculptor G. H. Sander, circa 1910, with a quote from Roosevelt's famous 1899 speech, "The Strenuous Life."

"I wish to preach not the doctrine of the ignoble ease but the doctrine of strenuous life, the life of toil and effort, of labor and strife; to preach that highest form of success that comes, not to the man who desires mere ease and peace, but to him who does not shrink from danger, hardship, or bitter toil, and who, out these, wins the splendid ultimate triumph!"

Plaque shows Roosevelt's profile in high-relief, with his signature in relief at bottom.

It has its lovely original patina. There is a metal ring on the back for hanging.

Size: 7.75'' x 13.5'' x .75"
