An official US Treasury poster promoting the 7th War Loan, just days after the victory in Europe.
Created in 1945, the painting by C. C. Beall is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning photograph taken by Associated Press photographer, Joe Rosenthal, of the second American flag raising by U.S. Marines on Mount Suribachi, Iwo Jima on February 23, 1945.
We have two:
- They are both conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition, with no rips or tears and vibrant colors. They can be framed or displayed as-is.
- One poster does not have a crease and is in excellent condition.
- The other poster does have a crease in the center and is in excellent condition. I've included a close up. Hanging on the wall and looking at it from a typical viewing distance, it's not very noticeable. We have priced it slight less.
Size of poster: 26" x 36" — This is the size of the poster, which has been mounted to a piece of canvas.
