. . .

Printed "Turkey Red" cotton bandana made in 1912 for Theodore Roosevelt’s third run for president under the Bull Moose Progressive Party.

Features caricature of Teddy Roosevelt in a cowboy hat along the outside of the design and the initials TR throughout.

Framed in a solid wood frame by The Old Print Shop in New York.

Also available (unframed): Theodore Roosevelt "Battle Flag" Bandana for his 1912 presidential campaign.

In both cases, the bandanas are in very good condition.

I've included a few photos for historical background on the campaign:

    • 1912 National Progressive Convention at the Chicago Coliseum, Moffett Studio and Kaufmann, Weimer & Fabry Co. from the Library of Congress.

  • 1912 editorial cartoon by Karl K. Kneecht (1883–1972) in the Evansville Courier showing Roosevelt mixing political ideologies.
  • Photos I took on a visit to the recreated boyhood home of Roosevelt in New York that show the shirt, speech (now bound), and glasses case that slowed the bullet when Roosevelt was shot as he was arriving to give a speech in Milwaukee.
