Unfolded it is 8.5" x  22". Save $5.00 when you buy both the large poster and the foldout print.

The Mayflower passengers poster shows passengers (top half of poster) grouped by family, and those who made it to the First Thanksgiving one year later (bottom half of poster). It is the most powerful image I've seen of the impact of the hardships they faced that first year—and one of the most effective graphical depictions of historical information I've ever seen.

More information on the individuals and families pictured

This poster shows the passengers aboard the Mayflower during its trans-Atlantic voyage of September 6 – November 9, 1620, the majority of whom became the settlers of Plymouth Colony in what is now Massachusetts.

"The Mayflower launched with 102 passengers - 74 male and 28 female - and a crew headed by Master Christopher Jones. About half of these emigrants died in the first winter. There were five Mayflower passengers who died at sea in November/December 1620. Those passengers were followed by forty-five passengers who perished in the bitter first winter of 1620/21. The Mayflower colonists suffered greatly during their first winter in the New World from lack of shelter, scurvy, and general conditions on board the ship. Many Americans can trace their ancestry back to one or more of these individuals who, 'Saints' and 'Strangers' together, would become known as the Pilgrims."View the original list of passengers (PDF, 2.6Mb) from the handwritten manuscript of Gov. William Bradford, written up about 1651 (file link is to the State Library of Massachusetts).Check out the video of a list of well-known descendants of the Mayflower Passengers here.

This outstanding graphic was created for Pilgrim Hall Museum, which holds the world’s most significant collection of original Pilgrim possessions.

We’re able to offer this through a special arrangement with the museum. We appreciate the opportunity to bring it to a much larger audience of history lovers.

To learn more about the Pilgrims and their arrival

We interviewed Donna Curtin, the Executive Director of the Pilgrim Hall Museum, on November 24, 2020. You can watch a recording of that interview, which includes questions from the audience.

Donna’s institution is the one behind the striking images on the poster and we worked closely with her on the development of the foldout. Donna has her PhD. in American History from Brown University. Early in her career, she was an interpreter at Plimoth Plantation. The Pilgrim Hall Museum is the country's oldest continually-operating public museum.

We also have an interview with author and historian Linda Coombs (Aquinnah Wampanoag) about the Native American experience. Linda will discuss the Wampanoag’s experience with the pilgrims’ arrival we well as the effects of an epidemic that swept through and devastated the region just before the pilgrims arrived.

Linda is an author and historian from the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah), the program director for the Aquinnah Cultural Center, and a Plymouth 400 Inc board member.

This interview was part of an ongoing series of “History Camp” interviews with noted authors and historians Thursday nights at 8 pm (Eastern). They are streamed live at HistoryCamp.org/online.

          Mayflower Poster

One of our ancestors (Hopkins) was on the Mayflower and we were thrilled to see their entire family were able to attend the first Thanksgiving.

          Perfect

About 2 years ago my research showed that I’m a descendant of William & Susanna - Resolved White. The poster is perfect and will be framed to hang in the house. Such a fun way to display the Mayflower story.

          Mayflower Passenger List

I purchased the Mayflower Passenger List from the History List for a fellow genealogist who has an ancestor on the list. She was thrilled to see the name on the poster, and hopefully, it will instill a love of genealogy in her children and grandchildren. The poster is very well-designed, and when looking at the people who did not survive the first year, it was very impactful.
Thank you for designing such an interesting piece of history.

Mayflower Poster is very useful in doing Ancestry Trees.

I love my poster & smaller foldable chart. There was a problem with the USPS delivery, my poster arrived damaged. The customer service was excellent, they sent another poster immediately, & I had time to frame it as a gift. Thanks
