About The History List
The common thread through everything I've done is helping connect you to history.
I started The History List Store in 2016 with our trademarked "History Nerd" design.
Today we have hundreds of products and nearly everything you see is our own design and most products are made in America.
In late 2023 I added Rare Finds. Announced in a special mailing that goes out across the country at 9 pm Eastern every Thursday night, these have ranged from a presidential appointment signed by President Thomas Jefferson and his Secretary of State, James Madison, to a report on Gettysburg National Cemetery owned by the man who designed the cemetery and that included his handwritten notate about standing near Lincoln when he gave his address, a striking poster about The Great War, and a hand-colored 1762 map of North America.
The History List
Your purchases support the operation and expansion of The History List, which helps attract new visitors and members to historic sites and history organizations across the country, and it's all provided free.
I started The History List in 2011 in the Boston area and it's grown to become the largest list of history-related events and exhibits. With your help, it will continue to grow and expand across the country.
History Camp
I started History Camp in 2014. It is a ground-breaking event that brings together people from all walks of life. We have now put on History Camps in several cities and have done at least one every year, with the exception of 2000. In April of that year we expanded our online programs to include weekly discussions with noted historians. These are streamed and archived. In fact, there are now more than 150 to choose from in our archive covering all eras of history.
The Pursuit of History
In 2019 I co-founded the non-profit organization The Pursuit of History to expand History Camp to reach more people in-person and online. Proceeds from the sale of some of the products in The History List Store benefit The Pursuit of History.
In 2023 we launched our first event designed for a small group of people to explore one topic in-depth: The Pursuit of History: Forging the Continental Army. Today these Pursuit of History Weekends continue with small group, deep dive events across the country.
More about The History List Store
My thanks to my colleagues who work hard as we continue to expand The History List Store:
- Danella — Store operations
- Larisa — Social media and customer service
- Paul — Customer service
- Kevin — Site operations and infrastructure
- Fabio — Fulfillment operations
They are the reason we have grown to become the largest site for original products that people with a passion for history love.
Your feedback is always welcome
I'm always happy to hear from you. If you have a question or suggestion about the products we design and offer, please send me a note. I read every message and we capture every idea.
