To learn more about the Pilgrims and their arrival
We interviewed Donna Curtin, the Executive Director of the Pilgrim Hall Museum, on November 24, 2020. You can watch a recording of that interview, which includes questions from the audience.
Donna’s institution is the one behind the striking images on the poster and we worked closely with her on the development of the foldout. Donna has her PhD. in American History from Brown University. Early in her career, she was an interpreter at Plimoth Plantation. The Pilgrim Hall Museum is the country's oldest continually-operating public museum.
This interview was part of an ongoing series of “History Camp” interviews with noted authors and historians Thursday nights at 8 pm (Eastern). They are streamed live at HistoryCamp.org/online.
I hope you'll also join us Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 8 pm (Eastern) for a live interview with author and historian Linda Coombs (Aquinnah Wampanoag) about the Native American experience. Linda will discuss the Wampanoag’s experience with the pilgrims’ arrival we well as the effects of an epidemic that swept through and devastated the region just before the pilgrims arrived.
Linda is an author and historian from the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah), the program director for the Aquinnah Cultural Center, and a Plymouth 400 Inc board member.
The Mayflower passengers poster shows passengers (top half of poster) grouped by family, and those who made it to the First Thanksgiving one year later (bottom half of poster). It is the most powerful image I've seen of the impact of the hardships they faced that first year—and one of the most effective graphical depictions of historical information I've ever seen.
We have talked several times with the folks at the Pilgrim Hall Museum, which is the institution that created this and from whom we purchase the poster, and they are thrilled, as we are, that there has been such strong interest in this topic and this graphical presentation of what happened that first difficult year.

We love this poster, it’s very informative and helps us understand the difficulties the Mayflower passengers faced on their journey to finding freedom. My husband is a descendant of one of the families represented on the chart. The only thing that could make this product better is an option to have it laminated.
I just recently discovered the History List and I love all their items. I have been teaching a long time and I swore I would not buy another thing for my classroom but the Mayflower Passenger List and the Revolutionary Superheroes posters were great. High quality and very artfully done. Thank you!
Quality poster and quick shipping. Another great product from The History List. I can't wait to display it in class.
This poster arrived on time and in good condition. It was a gift for our granddaughter who loves history and is a descendant of William Bradford . We were excited to see clearly the visual portrayal of the percentage who survived.
The paper and printing are better quality than I expected and the history I am passing on to my Grandchildren is a keepsake they will have.
I love this as it not only shows who arrived on the Mayflower but who was left for the first”Thanksgiving “ get together. Very visual story of the hardships of that group of people.
History list was awesome in every way. Mayflower poster was a birthday gift to a direct descendent (Alden/Mullins) friend of the family who was wowed by it!
Nicely done - We found the listings very informative!
