1893 World's Columbian Exposition Souvenir Bell
1893 World's Columbian Exposition Souvenir Bell
Updated on March 19, 2026: This has been sold.
Clear pressed glass bell made on the grounds of the World's Columbian Exposition by the Libbey Glass Company.
Visitors to the Midway Plaisance could watch glass being made and, for a small fee, have souvenir pieces created on site. This bell is one such example, with “World’s Fair 1893” frosted on the front.
The handle features the early Libbey star mark, with a spiraled, frosted design and the original acorn clapper.
Libbey’s glass factory was among the most popular attractions at the Fair, where visitors could observe skilled craftsmen shaping glass by hand—reflecting the era before large-scale automated production.
