Full title: American Progress: Or the Great Events of the Greatest Century, including also Life Delineations of our Most Noted Men — A book for our times — Illustrated with over 300 engravings by Hon. R.M. Devens, of Massachusetts. Published in Chicago, Illinois by Hugh Heron in 1883.

This book is exactly as the title states, with chapters gathered under dramatic headings, including "Battles, Sieges, and Brilliant Naval Engagements," "Appalling Public Calamities, Disasters, Panics, etc.,” and, Celebrated Criminal Cases, Tragedies and Conspiracies, Etc.”

Taking into account that this has been rebound and was previously in the Grinnell College Library, it is in very good condition.
