XIX Corps in Action: Two WWII Campaign Maps — 1944–1945

Updated on October 29, 2026: This has been sold.

Two companion pictorial maps tracing the U.S. Army’s XIX Corps from Normandy to the final campaigns in Germany. Both were drawn by T/5 Henry J. Mac Millan and reproduced by the 62nd Engineer Topographic Company. Issued in November 1944 and May 1945, they combine campaign routes, illustrated landmarks, battle scenes, and soldiers’ observations.

The set includes:

  • “XIX Corps in Action: From D-Day to Germany,” November 1944 — Follows the advance through Normandy, across France and Belgium, and into the Netherlands toward the German frontier. The reverse carries the October 1944 special edition of Le Tomahawk, Volume 2, Number 6, headlined “XIX Corps Cracks Siegfried Line.”
  • “XIX Corps in Action: From Siegfried Line to Victory,” May 1945 — Continues the story through the advance across Germany to victory in Europe. The reverse is headed “The Tomahawk Strikes: From Siegfried Line to Victory” and contains a campaign account, operational statistics, and a handwritten “Personal History” panel.

Printed in blue, red, and black, both maps feature the XIX Corps tomahawk insignia and a historical summary framed by illustrations of soldiers. The May 1945 map includes scenes of the Ruhr industrial region, liberated prisoners at Langenstein, and American and Soviet troops meeting.
