Small document trunk constructed of wood and covered in thin leather with brass tack decoration and a carry handle.

Every square inch of the interior is lined with newspapers with articles dated 1834 and 1838 that include references to the Marquis de Lafayette (1834) and Andrew Jackson. At least one of the papers is from Bangor, Maine.

Fitted with a latch featuring a skeleton-style keyhole. (We do not have the key.)
