John Adams, writing to his wife from Philadelphia on July 3:
(Spelling from the original. "Epocha" is an archaic form of "epoch.")
Why July 2? The Continental Congress declared freedom from Britain on July 2. They approved the Declaration of Independence on July 4.
As explained by The Constitution Center:

I am very much looking forward to giving this to my boyfriend, as his birthday is July 2nd and we joke about the significance of that date. He's going to get a big kick out of this shirt!
We love the color of the flag. The date is so appropriate as it a Birthday of our Grandson. I much appreciate that it is made in the USA.
My shirt is high quality & a perfect fit that shows my love of history.
Great back history of the 2nd versus the 4th! If you get this shirt and someone ask about it (see reviews below) refrain from going into the detailed history unless you want to be label that guy at your event. 🥴
I got exactly what I ordered, and it was EXACTLY what they said it would be and what I expected. That may seem like a low bar to clear; but, not so! Material, size, texture, color, timely delivery, . . . . Well done!
This is the perfect shirt for history nerds and a great conversation starter at 4th of July celebrations. The shirt is good quality and fits true to size.
I was very pleased with myself for having ordered this shirt in time for this year's Independence Day Celebrations. I had multiple strangers comment about it or ask me questions once they saw it. As a History teacher, any way to open the door to a teachable moment works for me. I ordered one in the same size (XL) as a t-shirt I ordered last year, and I think it may have been just slightly more snug than the previous order, but my wife promptly reminded me I never got back to the gym after the pandemic restrictions in VA were lifted and that maybe if I want my shirts to be comfortable again, I could cut back on the Doritos. Either way, I love the shirt. Thanks HL.
I gave it as a gift to my father who is Revolutionary War buff and reenactor. He absolutely loved it!!
