To Emil Ludwig,
With the admiration
of Ida Tarbell
January 1928
Emil Ludwig was a German-Swiss author, known for his biographies and study of historical "greats. Read more about him here.
This book, the seventh of Tarbell's eighth books on Lincoln and his family, traces the 16th President's lineage from the first Lincoln to migrate in 1637 from England to what was the Massachusetts Bay Colony.
This volume's pages 360-361 contained the spark that kindled the flame of the collector/editor-author's research into Abraham Lincoln's 1858 "time capsule".
The book is in very good condition and includes the dust jack (covered mylar) shown in the photos.
The National Women's Hall of Fame calls Tarbell, " . . . the most famous woman journalist of her time. . . . In 1922, The New York Times named her one of the 'Twelve Greatest American Women.'"
