A two-volume edition of one of the foundational works of American literature and autobiography. Centered around Franklin’s celebrated memoirs, the set traces his rise from apprentice printer to scientist, diplomat, inventor, and Founding Father, while also including additional writings and biographical material continued by his grandson after Franklin’s death.

The second volume has extensive information on his scientific achievements, with several illustrations, as you'll see in the photographs.

Includes a bookplate addressed to Benjamin Leonard Van Schaick, executive secretary of the Long Island State Park Commission, on front.
