Military Journal of the American Revolution by James Thacher — 1862
Military Journal of the American Revolution by James Thacher — 1862
Updated on September 25, 2025: This book has been sold.
This large book (500+ pages) on the American Revolution is the only one I know of that was written by a surgeon who served in the Army. And in addition to his description of events during the war, he added several other items. The full title says it all—well almost all: The Military Journal of the American Revolution, from the commencement to the disbanding of the American Army; comprising a detailed account of the principal events and Battle of the Revolution with their exact dates, and a Biographical Sketch of the most prominent Generals, to which is added the Life of Washington, his Farewell Address, the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution of the United States. Ours was printed in 1862 and, while the cover has been reinforced, the pages, including the hand-colored engravings, are in very good condition.
