Lossing. Published in New York by Geo. F. Cooledge & Brother in 1856. 

A collection of concise biographies honoring the leaders of the American Revolution.

Highlighting both their public deeds and private virtues, the book presents the Revolution as seen through the lives of its key figures. It includes explanatory notes, historical context, and a closing section on the events leading to the adoption of the U.S. Constitution.
