Two medals commemorating the Great Central Fair held in Philadelphia in June 1864.

Featuring the bust of George Washington in one side. And the "Great Centennial Fair, Philadelphia, June 1864" on the other side.

Held in Logan Square from June 7–28, the fair raised money for the United States Sanitary Commission’s relief work for Union soldiers. President Abraham Lincoln visited on June 16, 1864.

These pieces were struck at the Philadelphia Mint using a steam coining press brought to the fairgrounds.

Commonly struck in bronze, a few were struck in silver. We have one of each.

The last photo shows all of the medals we're offering tonight (October 8, 2026).

Size: 18mm

Shipping: $10. Please allow two weeks for shipping.
