"The Illustrated History of the Centennial Exhibition" by James McCabe

"The Illustrated History of the Centennial Exhibition" by James McCabe

Updated on April 14: This book has been sold.

Full title: The Illustrated History of the Centennial Exhibition, held in Commemoration of the One Hundredth Anniversary of American Independence by James McCabe. Published by The National Publishing Company, Philadelphia, PA; Chicago, Ill.; St. Louis, Mo. in 1876. First edition. 918pp.

Includes descriptions of the buildings and objects in them and several fold out images, a few of which are pictured. There are more than 200 engravings in all.

Includes history of the exhibition, and biographies of the leading members of the Centennial Commission, and a description of the City of Philadelphia.

By James D. McCabe, author of "The Centennial History of the United States," "Pathways of the Holy Land," Etc., Etc.

The ads in the back are fabulous, which is why I included photos of them.  The same company that published Pathways of the Holy Land advertises, a few pages later, Sexual Science. You have to read the description.

Note that the book is not in good condition on the outside, including missing its spine. The pages, however, are in very good condition. The book could be re-bound and can also be enjoyed as-is.

Shipping: $15. Please allow one week for shipping.
