Includes lengthy article on Washington, including one with a section curiously entitled, "Washington as Lover and Poet."
Features several antique engravings, as shown in the photos, including “The Morning of Inauguration Day” by T. Thulstrup, "Washington’s State Barge Passing Through the Fleet," and parade floats and uniforms of parade marchers.
Also includes reports on news of the time, including a large fire that occurred in New York City on April 19,1889 and the expansion into the native territory of Oklahoma.
