First two volumes of what later became a three volume set.

Originally issued in sixty unbound parts, containing 240 steel plate engravings of important Americans, this set includes the first 160 portraits plus two pages of biographical material for each.

In very good condition. While some of the pages have some yellowing, the pages with the plates are in excellent condition and bright white.
