Original complimentary ticket to the dedication ceremonies of the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago celebrating the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus' voyage.
Held on October 21, 1892, prior to the 1893 exposition, this event featured speeches, music, and presentations from prominent figures, including Vice President Levi P. Morton.
Features an elegant calligraphy and a “Complimentary” stamp, signifying VIP access. The ticket is personalized with the handwritten name “Mrs. J. Atwater Barnes.”
Signed by T.W. Palmer, President of the World’s Columbian Commission.
Enclosed in a 5" x 7" freestanding Lucite frame to protect the ticket while allowing you to display it standing or flat. The two pieces of Lucite are held together with magnets, which makes it easy to remove the ticket for a closer inspection or to frame in a different manner or to store.
Note that the manufacturer claims UV protection, but I haven't seen any technical report, so recommend keeping them out of direct sunlight.
Use a microfiber cloth or similar to remove dust and fingerprints. Do not use household cleaners.
Shipping: $10. Please allow two weeks for shipping.
Also available: "The World's Fair in Water Colors" — Portfolio of lithographs by C. Graham — 1893 — Only one
