After the original by M. Le Rouge.

Published in 1777 by Le Rouge, Georges-Louis in Paris.

First issued in 1755, the map provided the largest-scale and most detailed and accurate portrait of the region to date.

It depicts Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Rhode Island divided into counties and townships, based on actual surveys and astronomical observations.

Includes insets of Boston and Boston Harbor, with early details of the Lakes Region, Fort Frederick, and the Hudson River Valley and it has a magnificent engraved, hand-colored cartouche.

Originally engraved in London by Braddock Mead (John Green) for Thomas Jefferys, it remained one of the most detailed and important maps of the region through the Revolutionary period.

Finely engraved and printed on thick paper. Printed on four sheets and joined into two.

This map is rare and the one we have is in very, very good condition. Framed, it will be a stunning addition, something to hand down from generation to generation.
