"Operation Pierce-Arrow," depicting the first air attack on North Vietnam, is a limited edition print numbered 621/750.

Signed by artist Robert Grant Smith and Commander Jim Stockdale, who is portrayed leading the raid on an oil facility at Vinh on August 5, 1964.

The print is encased in a silver leaf cove frame, matted under Tru Vue Conservation Clear® Glass that offers 99% UV Protection.

Historical background

In response to the Gulf of Tonkin incident, U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson ordered Operation "Pierce Arrow" which was conducted on August 5, 1964. It marked the beginning of U.S. air operations over North Vietnam and Southeast Asia.  This limited edition, numbered print is signed by Vice Admiral James Bond Stockdale, who led the raid. He was captured and held for more than seven years. He was the most senior officer held captive in Hanoi and received the Medal of Honor.
