From his humble beginnings and early education to his rise as a celebrated Union cavalry commander, Sheridan’s memoirs vividly recount his pivotal role in key battles, including the Shenandoah Valley Campaign, the Battle of Five Forks, and the Appomattox Campaign.
The book also dives into Sheridan’s post-war experiences, including his leadership during Reconstruction, his interactions with Native American tribes, and his observations of the Franco-Prussian War in Europe.
