Bataan - The March of Death — Stanely Falk — Leather-bound, gilt-edged Easton Press edition

$150.00

In the spring of 1942, the Japanese 14th Army captured 78,100 American and Filipino troops on the Bataan Peninsula in the Philippines, and a curtain of silence concealed their fate. Over a year and a half later, the story of their evacuation became a highly publicized episode of the Philippine campaign. While some survivors have recounted their experiences, this book is the first to provide a comprehensive account of the Death March from both the Japanese and Allied perspectives. Historian Stanley Falk describes the march, corrects misconceptions, and explores the conditions and causes behind it, drawing on American and Japanese Army records, letters, diaries, and interviews with survivors. Falk is affiliated with the Office of the Chief of Military History, Department of the Army.
